Metro line between Rotterdam and Hoogvliet

The new, 11.5-kilometre Benelux Line metro link between Rotterdam and Hoogvliet will include six stations. Six different architects have designed the stops along the route, taking their inspiration from the immediate surroundings. The travelling public will be able to admire the results this autumn when RET commissions the new metro line.

Combinatie Benelux Lijn, a consortium including HBG Civiel and seven other contractors, was responsible for three sections of the Benelux Line contract. These covered the construction of three stations, three-and-a-half kilometres of metro tunnel and 900 metres of viaduct. The group company was also part of different consortiums working on two other sections of the line: 3.6 kilometres of railway viaduct and the Pernis stop on the south bank of the Nieuwe Maas and the Second Benelux Tunnel, with its twin metro tubes. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands will perform the official opening of the Benelux Line this autumn.
