Nuttall awarded Guided Busway project for Cambridgeshire

Bunnik, Netherlands, 29 August 2006 - A significant guided busway project valued at around € 125 million (£85 million) has been awarded to Edmund Nuttall Ltd by Cambridgeshire County Council. The scheme will include the construction of 24 kilometres of concrete guideway, which is believed to be the longest section of its kind in Europe. The project will take 110 weeks to complete.

The project scope includes the construction of the guideways, provision of bus shelters, installation of real time information systems, the reconfiguration of junctions, and the demolition and modification of structures.

This award builds on the successful delivery of Fastway, the guided busway project, which was completed earlier this year and operates in Crawley, Horley and Gatwick Airport in the counties of West Sussex and Surrey.
