£4 million motorway communications contract for Nuttall

Edmund Nuttall Ltd has been awarded a contract valued at £4.2 million by the Highways Agency to undertake improvements to the communications infrastructure along sections of the M6 and M54 motorways in Staffordshire.

The contract, which has been awarded on a partnering basis, comprises the installation of a longitudinal duct system, foundations for 17 cantilever MS3s, 18 CCTV masts, a full size transmission station adjacent to the existing station at Hilton Park Service Area, the installation of equipment cabinets, matrix signal posts, emergency telephone posts and housings and the provision of safety fencing.  In addition, Nuttall will install the appropriate cabling to suit the requirements of the job.

Completion of this project will take 44 weeks.

Editor’s note

Nuttall is currently working on a further communications contract also for the Highways Agency installing 63 CCTV cameras in various locations on the M25 motorway. This contract is valued at £6.1 million.
