Rohcon wins Waterford Government Buildings Project

Rohcon Ltd, one of Ireland’s largest building contractors has been named as the winning main contractor by the Office of Public Works for the total refurbishment of the Government Buildings at The Glen, Waterford.

The £16.9 Million project involves the refurbishment of the Government Buildings, a five-storey block with a floor area of approximately 5,000m2. The refurbishment will include the stripping off of the existing precast concrete panels and the fixing of curtain walling and stone cladding and the provision of a civic entrance foyer. Also included is the construction of 200m2 of new accommodation by way of a lightweight construction on the roof and a total internal refit of each floor including mechanical and electrical installation upgrades together with lift refurbishment.

Rohcon is currently involved in other projects throughout the country including the National Aquatic Centre of Ireland, Millennium Offices in Naas and the Portlaoise General Hospital.  Recent projects completed for the Office of Public Works include Farmleigh House and the National Library of Ireland.
