Strengthening monumental bridge in Wharfedale

The rolling landscape round the historic village of Pool in Wharfedale, UK forms the backdrop to one of Nuttall's projects. A listed bridge is to be strengthened during the next few months so that it can carry today's heavier trucks.

HBG's group company, specialised in civil engineering, will first be building a temporary Bailey bridge across the River Wharfe. Pool in Wharfedale lies a few kilometres north-west of Leeds and is mentioned in historical documents as early as 1087. Nuttall is due to complete the project – with a contract value of half a million euros – in the summer.
