This will take place at the Annual General Meeting of shareholders on 15 April 2020 for a period ending with the Annual General Meeting in 2024. Additionally, Mr H.L.J. (Harrie) Noy will be nominated for re-appointment as a member of the Supervisory Board for a period which will end at the Annual General Meeting in 2021.

Adjusted pre-tax result of €74 million in 2019 following strong second half

BAM’s performance recovered in the second half of 2019 after the disappointing first half year, and the company realised its revised full year outlook. Trade working capital efficiency improved during the year. The cash position strengthened further. Steps are being taken to accelerate the execution of the strategic agenda in order to improve the future performance and predictability.

  • BAM delivers on full year outlook with an adjusted PBT margin of 1.0%
  • Strong performance in Dutch and Irish Construction and Property, the UK and BAM PPP
  • Net result of €11.8 million impacted by non-cash impairments and restructuring charge

  • Order backlog maintained at high level with focus on risk/reward balance

BAM reaches Financial Close on Dendermonde Prison project in Belgium

18 February 2020 - The contract for the design, build, finance and maintenance of the Dendermonde Prison project in Belgium reached Financial Close successfully on 18 February 2020. The Belgian Buildings Agency (Regie der Gebouwen / Régie des Bâtiments) and Federal Governmental Department of Justice (FOD Justitie / SPF Justice) awarded BAM PPP the contract for the provision of a prison in Dendermonde, which will house 444 inmates. The contract value of the project is €194 million. Dendermonde is situated between Antwerp and Ghent.

The end of the current strategic cycle provides a natural moment for Van Wingerden to transfer the helm. The Supervisory Board has initiated the search for a successor, who will be leading the next stage of BAM’s development, including the preparation of a strategic update.

Record-breaking Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge opened by An Taoiseach

Kill, County Kildare, Ireland, 29 January 2020 - An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, T.D. and Rose Katherine Kennedy Townsend today officially opened the N25 New Ross Bypass PPP Scheme, delivered by the BAM/ ACS consortium on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), and Wexford and Kilkenny County Councils. The N25 New Ross Bypass PPP Scheme, which includes Ireland’s longest bridge, the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge, cost €230 million and provides 15 kilometres of road network. The new project will improve flows on the strategic Cork to Rosslare corridor and will ease traffic in the often-congested New Ross area, with travel times reduced by up to 30 minutes.
