Network Rail to reopen Redhill-Tonbridge line early as Edenbridge landslip repairs speed ahead

Construction work on Whitby Hospital set to start 23 March

The ‘tower block’ part of the site in Springhill will be fully remodelled and modernised in a £13 million scheme funded by NHS England. Major contractor, BAM Construction, is leading the work.

März 2020 - Das Landesamt für Straßenbau und Verkehr hat zu Wochenbeginn dem Unternehmen Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG aus Hamburg den Zuschlag für den Bau des nordwestlichen Brückenteils der Autobahn 20 bei Tribsees in Richtung Rostock erteilt. Das Bundesverkehrsministerium hat der Vergabe mit einem Auftragswert von knapp 43 Millionen Euro zugestimmt.

Adjusted pre-tax result of €74 million in 2019 following strong second half

BAM’s performance recovered in the second half of 2019 after the disappointing first half year, and the company realised its revised full year outlook. Trade working capital efficiency improved during the year. The cash position strengthened further. Steps are being taken to accelerate the execution of the strategic agenda in order to improve the future performance and predictability.

  • BAM delivers on full year outlook with an adjusted PBT margin of 1.0%
  • Strong performance in Dutch and Irish Construction and Property, the UK and BAM PPP
  • Net result of €11.8 million impacted by non-cash impairments and restructuring charge

BAM reaches Financial Close on Dendermonde Prison project in Belgium

18 February 2020 - The contract for the design, build, finance and maintenance of the Dendermonde Prison project in Belgium reached Financial Close successfully on 18 February 2020. The Belgian Buildings Agency (Regie der Gebouwen / Régie des Bâtiments) and Federal Governmental Department of Justice (FOD Justitie / SPF Justice) awarded BAM PPP the contract for the provision of a prison in Dendermonde, which will house 444 inmates. The contract value of the project is €194 million. Dendermonde is situated between Antwerp and Ghent.

The end of the current strategic cycle provides a natural moment for Van Wingerden to transfer the helm. The Supervisory Board has initiated the search for a successor, who will be leading the next stage of BAM’s development, including the preparation of a strategic update.
