The exciting new 29,570 sqm mixed-use development will consist of a 151-bed hotel and 413 apartments on the site of the former IDA Ireland Small Business Centre in the heart of the historic Liberties area of the city centre.

5PRING, BAM Nuttall and AE Aerospace invite innovators to win an opportunity helping UK manufacturing lead 5G revolution

Birmingham/Wolverhampton/Solihull, 19 July 2021 - 5PRING – the consortium behind the UK’s first 5G commercial application accelerator – has announced a new manufacturing-themed accelerator programme. The programme sees leading civil engineers BAM Nuttall, and aerospace manufacturer AE Aerospace, working with 5PRING, to set a series of challenges for innovative start-ups and small-medium sized enterprises (SMES) to solve using 5G.

BAM Construct UK signs £95 million contract for the creation of the 230,000 sq ft W.RE’s St Pancras Campus in Camden

Hemel Hempstead, 9 July 2021 - The St Pancras Campus will transform an underutilised industrial estate that sits on a 1.2 acre self-contained ‘island’ block near St Pancras Hospital into offices, retail and two separate residential buildings as well as replacing the current industrial use on site. The various buildings are linked together by a common basement and will be serviced by an internal street that runs through the main commercial building. The scheme will also introduce a new micro park to the neighbourhood.

Berlin, 6 July 2021 – Deutsche Bahn AG awarded Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG the Deutsche Bahn Supplier Award as a top supplier. Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG received the award in the ‘Infrastructure’ category for excellent civil engineering for the Gateway Gardens project, among others. Thomas Fiedler, Head of Wayss & Freytag Central Division, received the award in person from Ronald Pofalla, Member of the Deutsche Bahn Management Board responsible for Infrastructure, at the Bahntower in Berlin.

Solid Main Award Digital & BIM for A10/A24

Berlin / Frankfurt am Main, 23. Juni 2021 - HABAU Ges.mbH and Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG were awarded the main prize in the Digital & BIM category of the Solid BautechPreis Austria 2021 for the A10/A24 availability model project. Together with the partners of the Arge Havellandautobahn, Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau is constructing a total of around 64 kilometres of motorway between the Pankow interchange and the Neuruppin junction while the motorway remains in operation.

Construction's first industry-wide flexible working pilot finds wellbeing soars

Rates of wellbeing improve across the board - with no negative impact on budget or deadline -

  • Results from the Timewise Construction Pioneers programme are published today.
  • Programme has been led by industry body Build UK and designed by flexible working consultancy Timewise
  • Tested different forms of flexible working onsite with construction workers over the course of 18 months.
  • With 4 major employers (the Pioneers): BAM Construct UK, BAM Nuttall, Skanska UK and Willmott Dixon.
  • Participants recorded large increase in feelings of wellbeing.
  • ALL projects were completed without any negative impact on deadline or budget.
  • Long term goal is to help the industry enhance working patterns in order to attract a more diverse workforce and tackle persistent skills shortages.
