Construction of a multi-million pound scheme to protect thousands of homes and businesses in Hull from flooding from the Humber has been given the go ahead.

(Press release Environment Agency:) London, 9 January 2019 - The £42 million flood alleviation scheme, approved by Hull’s planning committee earlier this month on the fifth anniversary of the tidal surge that caused devastation to the city, has now had final sign off from the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

Eindhoven / Bunnik, the Netherlands, 2 January 2019 - Eindhoven Airport and construction company BAM have reached an agreement for the financial settlement of the incident of 27 May 2017, when the parking garage at Eindhoven Airport partially collapsed. Fortunately no casualties occurred in the incident.

(English translation of original German press release of DB Netz AG*:) Munich, 3 December 2018 - Deutsche Bahn AG has awarded another contract for the main construction parts of the second main line of Munich’s S-Bahn system. It includes both the structural works of the western tunnel section from Donnersberger Bridge to Marienhof station and the new underground rapid transit station at Munich Central Station, the so-called Nukleus. The award goes to a joint venture consisting of the partners Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG, Max Bögl Stiftung & Co. KG, Ed. Züblin AG and Bauer Spezialtiefbau GmbH. The contract has a value of approximately €676 million.

(Pressemitteilung Deutsche Bahn:) München, 03. Dezember 2018 - Die Deutsche Bahn hat einen weiteren Auftrag für die Hauptbaumaßnahmen der 2. Stammstrecke München vergeben. Dieser umfasst unter anderem den Rohbau des westlichen Tunnelstücks – von Donnersberger Brücke bis zum Marienhof – als auch die neue unterirdische S-Bahn-Station am Hauptbahnhof, den so genannten „Nukleus“. Den Zuschlag erhielt die Bietergemeinschaft aus den Firmen Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG, Max Bögl Stiftung & Co. KG, Ed. Züblin AG und Bauer Spezialtiefbau GmbH. Der Auftrag umfasst ein Volumen von knapp 676 Millionen Euro.

(Press release Vattenfall:) Amsterdam, 29 November 2018 - Vattenfall has made the decision to invest a total of EUR 64 million in the Haringvliet wind farm in Goeree-Overflakkee (Zuid-Holland) and the Moerdijk wind farm in Noord-Brabant. This is a major milestone for Vattenfall, whose ambition is to achieve fossil fuel-free living within one generation.

Heijmans and BAM are investigating possible joint venture asphalt plants

Rosmalen / Bunnik, the Netherlands, 28 November 2018 - Heijmans and BAM are investigating the possibilities to transfer their current asphalt plants in the Netherlands to a new joint asphalt company. Founding this joint venture will require the approval of the relevant competition authorities. The two companies jointly submitted a request to the European Commission to have the investigation into this transaction carried out by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 23 November 2018 – BAM Sports – the subsidiary of BAM Deutschland AG, which specialises in the construction of stadiums – has been awarded the contract for the complete renewal of Wildparkstadion in Karlsruhe, situated in the south west of Germany. The stadium serves as home of football club Karlsruher SC, which plays in the 3. Bundesliga. The contract by the City of Karlsruhe includes demolition of the original 1955 stadium and construction of a new stadium for more than 34,000 spectators with a VIP area, clubs offices and a fan shop. The contract value is approximately €100 million.

  • The contract is awarded to consortium

(English translation of original German press release of DB Netz AG*:) Munich, 15 November 2018 -  DB Netz AG has awarded the first contract for for the main construction parts of the second main line of Munich’s S-Bahn system. A consortium of Ed. Züblin AG, Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG, Max Bögl Foundation & Co. KG and Bauer Spezialtiefbau GmbH has won the contract for the main construction activities. The consortium is now responsible for the construction activities of the ‘Overground West’ project - from the Laim station to the Donnersberger bridge. The contract value is almost €189 million.
