Dublin, 4 December 2020 - Marlet appoints BAM Ireland as the main contractor for the Shipping Office, a commercial development in the heart of the Silicon Docks, which received last month a €101m financing facility from Activate Capital.

Hemel Hempstead, 1 December 2020 - Further development of the major Portsmouth commercial hub, Dunsbury Business Park, has been sparked as a new client has been attracted by the highly successful hub. Portsmouth City Council, working through Procure Partnerships, has appointed BAM Construction and BAM Design to create the fifth unit at the 45-acre business Park which was formerly farm land. BAM Design is also the masterplan architect for the business park.

BAM appointed for Bullring façade project

Hemel Hempstead / Birmingham, 1 December 2020 - BAM Construction has been appointed by Hammerson to deliver major renovation work on the iconic Selfridges building at Bullring. The work has just commenced and will complete during 2022. The store will remain open throughout and trade as normal.

BAM ends asphalt production at Binckhorst for residential plans of municipality The Hague

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 26 November 2020 – The municipality of The Hague and BAM have agreed to discontinue the activities of BAM’s asphalt plant in The Hague (Haagse Asfaltcentrale or HAC), which is operated by BAM Infra on the Binckhorst industrial estate (adjacent to the municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg). HAC will end the production of asphalt at this location by 31 December 2021.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 6 November 2020 - Johannes Fog, leading Danish supplier of building materials for professionals and private clients, has commissioned BAM Danmark a contract to design and build a complex of approximately 15.400 m², including new office facilities for Johannes Fog’s  headquarters and hardware store, youth apartments and educational facilities. The contract value exceeds €30 million.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 5 November 2020 – Rijkswaterstaat Oost-Nederland has awarded the contract for the Integral Major Maintenance (‘IGO’) of national highways in the eastern part of the Netherlands to BAM Infra Nederland. The project includes the maintenance of seven national highways, divided over two lots (west and east) with a total contract value of approximately €45 million.

BAM reports solid third quarter with adjusted pre-tax result of €51.7 million, reiterates full year outlook

First nine months 2020 trading update

Royal BAM Group nv reports for the first nine months of 2020 an adjusted loss before tax of €81.8 million, which is a €51.7 million improvement versus the first half year result. The cash position and the order book remained solid. During the third quarter, the situation regarding Covid-19 was generally stable. BAM maintains its outlook of a positive adjusted result before tax for the second half of the year, although the Covid-19 situation still causes uncertainty.

  • Both business lines improved performance in third quarter after being hit hard in second quarter by Covid-19
  • Revenue of €1.7 billion in third quarter 2020, in line with comparable period 2019
  • Adjusted result before tax of €51.7 million in third quarter 2020, a margin of 3.0%
  • Programme to structurally lower BAM’s cost base by €100 million initiated; first benefits in 2021
  • Cash position remained strong at €1.2 billion, which includes fully drawn €400 million revolving credit facility
  • Capital ratio improved to 12.6%
  • Order book at €13.3 billion, stable versus mid-year 2020
