Making way for the speed pedelec

Working with Gazelle, BAM has come up with a smart solution to our congested roads: the ‘Making way for the speed pedelec’ mobility concept. This is a concept that focuses on the use of speed pedelecs in the Hoofddorp-Amsterdam region, which has Schiphol airport at its heart.

A key element is the creation of an express cycle route extending over 22 kilometres to make commuting to work by speed pedelec (capable of speeds up to 45 km/h) more attractive to the 60,000 people who work at the airport. The express cycle route could also be used by business traffic and travellers, making it easy for them to reach Schiphol too.
